It's been a slow week so far but one that has been pretty eye opening.

Have been observing alot and taking in the work environment and atmosphere. It's pretty relaxed but you can still feel the urgency and how hectic stuff ar. There's alot of plans and changes that are taking shape and it's comforting to know that MUIS is going the right direction and is really trying to help out the Muslim community.

But amidst all this, you can still sense some negative vibes. There's always the money issue. There's the issue of changing the mindsets of people. There's also the uncertainty of whether the projects that have been put in place will take off as expected. And personally, i was quite surprised at the relaxed way the things are done here in MUIS. Maybe it's just the work environment or maybe i was just so used to the stricter, more disciplined way of things during my NS stint with the Police.

Nevertheless, it's been a really enriching internship so far. We are given tasks that really make us feel a sense of ownership towards MUIS. Some of us even wish we could stay longer and help out. But with the time given to us, i'm sure all of us will give in our 100% effort. You can tell how commited we are already by the intense discussions we have over their programmes. Looking forward to more eye opening stuff and making loads of contacts. ..haha..
